a very perfect place
Inspired by the timeless elegance of original English manor homes, Henry Barrington envisioned and meticulously constructed his family home as a ‘very perfect place’. Every detail, from the elegant furniture to the dazzling chandeliers, the captivating paintings to the cherished books, was carefully selected and brought overseas by ship.
Yet, tragedy struck with the Great Fire of 1869, reducing Henry’s masterpiece to ashes. Determined to restore his vision, Henry wasted no time and rebuilt the manor, completing it in 1871. Today, this beautiful home still stands as a testament to resilience and grace.
